Q. What are spider veins?
A: Tiny dilated blood vessels on the legs just below the skin appearing blue, purple and red.

Q: What are varicose veins? 
A: They are dilated veins that have permanently lost their ability to return blood from the legs back to the heart.  Because the blood in these varicose veins flow very slow and inefficient the leg muscles are being supplied with poorly oxygenated blood causing pain.

Q: Don’t I need all my veins?
A: The superficial veins act mostly as a reservoir for blood until it works it way into the muscles or deep veins.  Closing or destroying diseased veins usually improves circulation because abnormal veins prevent the blood from returning to the heart for recycling.

Q: What causes varicose veins? 
A: Among the most common causes are heredity, hormones, pregnancy, obesity, trauma
